The Ecobrick Doghouse was built for the Ecobrick Iconik event at Iconik Coffee Roasters in March of 2015. Three pallets were pieced together to form the base and sides of the doghouse. The floor was stuffed with mixed soft plastic waste, and the walls were filled with ecobricks. The front and back walls were made from plywood, and the back was insulated with carton ecobricks. The roof was constructed with 2x4s, and some reclaimed wood, plastic sheeting and plexiglass. The piece was finished with pallet wood floaters on the bottom, a bit of paint and an old snowboard. Our desire with this construction was to show how plastic waste, ecobricks, cartonbricks, and other reclaimed materials could be used in simple constructions.
